Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian has obtained court orders barring her ex-lover, Musa Hussein Lenyumpa, from associating with her in any way.
In a ruling on Tuesday August 12, 2025, by Magistrate Festus Terer, the court barred Musa from assaulting, threatening, harassing, or interfering with the nominated Senator’s private life.
At the same time, her ex-lover was prohibited from using her name, image, or likeness for personal or commercial purposes.
He was also barred from publishing any information about her, or accessing her home or workplace until further orders are issued.
Through lawyer Danstan Omari, Senator Lemaletian told the court that the two were only engaged in a Samburu customary courtship, which she later revoked.
According to the nominated Senator, Musa did not pay her dowry and that the Ksh100,000 “ropiyani e loip” he gave was merely a token of appreciation under Samburu tradition, the money she had refunded in full.
The Senator told the court that the harassment had seriously affected her safety, privacy, and professional reputation.
She accused Musa of issuing death threats, committing acts of physical violence, and spreading false claims that they are married.
The matter will be heard on September 22, 2025, when both parties will present their arguments on whether the orders should be extended.
