The Senator for Tana River County, Danson Mungatana, has urged the county governor Dhadho Godhana to immediately cancel the planned trip to Canada involving himself and several county officials.
In a statement, Senator Mungatana described the trip as a “stupid waste of public funds,” arguing that the money should instead be used to address pressing challenges facing residents of Tana River County.
He noted that the county continues to struggle with several development issues, including lack of clean water, poor healthcare services, and inadequate infrastructure. According to the senator, these priorities should come before foreign trips.
Mungatana further called on the county government to exercise accountability in the use of public resources and to prioritize the needs of the people.
