Isiolo County Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo was put to task to explain to the Senate Public Accounts Committee why he has 36 advisors instead of the recommended 18.
Back and forth ensued on Monday May 19, 2025 in the Senator Moses Kajwang led Committee when the Isiolo Governor appeared to answer questions on the county funds.
Governor Guyo was hard-pressed over employing 36 advisors which is against the law
At the same time, Guyo was at pains to explain why a county which has 10 Members of County Assembly (MCAs) and 9 members of the County Executive Committee would manage to have 36 advisors.
According to the office of the Auditor General, governors should have 18 advisors.
However, in his defence, Governor Guyo told the committee that he has only 4 advisors.
The Isiolo Governor was also on spot over Ksh106 million land project, when it was revealed that the county had on opportunity to save Ksh38 million by getting the lowest bidder.
