Police in Mlolongo, Machakos County, are investigating a shocking incident where a 30-year-old woman killed her nine-year-old daughter.
Reports indicate that Esther Mueni threw her two daughters off the sixth floor of the apartment they lived in on Thursday, August 21 evening.
After throwing her daughters off the sixth floor, one of them died while the second one sustained injuries.
Eye witnesses say Mueni would later attempt to kill herself by jumping off the balcony too. She sustained serious injuries from the jump.
Mueni and her four-year-old daughter were rescued to the hospital where they are admitted in serious condition.
The body of the girl was moved to mortuary pending an autopsy, even as investigations continue.
