Plimo Juma a 21-year old from Chepkopegh village in Kapenguria, West Pokot County and a form four leaver who has been unable to continue with his educational journey for over 2yrs since completing his secondary education in 2023 has surprised many after walking into Kitelakapel Technical Training Institute with a goat seeking admission.
The 21 year old young man completed his secondary education at St Luke Naramam Boys and scored a C- in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education [KCSE] but was unable to continue with education due to lack of school fees.
Juma, a fourth born in the family of six and a determined young man, arrived at the institution carrying a goat — a heartfelt gesture symbolizing his deep commitment to pursuing education.
After seeking permission from the gateman and gaining entry into the institution, Juma presented the goat to the Registry Office as a token of appreciation and a plea for a chance to learn.
His bold act quickly caught the attention of staff and students, stirring admiration and sparking conversation across the campus.
With excitement the institution’s principal Mrs. Phidis Karimi Masai, joined by the County Director of TVET, Mr. Micheal Rugut ,warmly received the young man commending his remarkable determination.
Speaking to Cape Media’s TV47, Kitelakapel Technical Training Institute principal Mrs. Phidis Karimi, applauded the student’s determination saying the spirit of the institution’s mission is to make technical education accessible to all without any favor.
