Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol has officially declared his candidacy for the position of Governor of Siaya County in the 2027 General Election, running on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
Speaking at his home in Alego Usonga during an interdenominational prayer service attended by independent and small churches across the constituency, Oduol said he sought spiritual nourishment and blessings before embarking on his campaign journey.
“I am presenting myself for nominations if there will be another candidate seeking to run on the ODM ticket. Thereafter, I will contest against the rest of the candidates,” he stated.
Oduol emphasized that the current Siaya County manifesto was largely his creation, lamenting that it has not been implemented. He pledged to actualize the “Siayaan dream” by delivering on the nine-point agenda he developed.
“The manifesto we have in Siaya County was largely my manifesto. Unfortunately, it has not been implemented. I therefore ask the residents of Siaya County to elect me in 2027 so that the dream can be realized,” he said.
The Deputy Governor urged citizens to rally behind his vision, promising to prioritize development and ensure that the county’s agenda is fully executed under his leadership.
