“Sifuna being removed from ODM is our opportunity to form our own party”- Morara Kebaso

Entrepreneur and government critic Morara Kebaso has weighed in on reports of Edwin Sifuna’s removal from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership structure, describing the development as a potential turning point for like-minded leaders seeking political change.

Speaking during an interview on “Dr. Ofweneke Tonight” on TV47, Kebaso said the situation presents an opportunity to rethink Kenya’s political organization and leadership approach.

“Sifuna being kicked out of ODM is our opportunity for us to form our own political party.

To my friend Babu Owino, even if you win as governor for Nairobi County, you can’t fix these problems. These problems are systemic,” Morara said.

He argued that meaningful change in Kenya requires addressing governance challenges at a structural level, including national leadership.

“We can either fix from the bottom( the voters) or we fix it from the problem itself. We capture the presidency by all means possible,” he stated.

Kebaso also dismissed claims that he has been financially influenced by political figures, pointing to his personal achievements before the current political climate.

“The first time I drove a V8 was in 2023. I bought a house in 2022 at KSh16 million, Ruto alininunulia?” he said, rejecting allegations that he has been “bought.”

During the interview, Kebaso commented on a recent TV47 investigative feature questioning the healing claims of Prophet David Owuor, shifting focus to public responsibility.

“Shida sio Prophet Owuor, shida ni Wakenya. If they can think like that, you can imagine how they will vote.

Prophet Owuor is not dumb, he just knows what Kenyans want. He knows how gullible Kenyans are,” he said.

The discussion also touched on his personal life, where Kebaso shared details about his marriage.

“I met my wife when I was 22 years in August, and we moved in together one month later.

I called her and asked her to carry her clothes and move in with me. She is very peaceful, drama-free, and she has given me kids that are my own,” he said.

He added that trust in relationships should still be accompanied by verification.

“My wife has never given me a reason to doubt her, but me being Morara, I verify everything.

I trust everyone but verify everything. I did a DNA for all my kids. To all Nairobi men out there, fanya tu DNA ukue sure,” Kebaso said.

The interview highlighted Kebaso’s growing political voice, particularly as conversations around party leadership, voter awareness, and governance continue to shape Kenya’s political landscape ahead of the next election cycle.
