Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has claimed that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo and and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino are planning to destroy ODM party and finish the late Raila Odinga’s legacy.

In a statement shared on his X account on February 9, 2026, Kaluma emphasized that Orengo and other ODM rebels will not succeed in their attempt to destroy Raila’s legacy.

He went ahead and posted on his Facebook page, venting out his dissatisfaction with them.

”So James Orengo, Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino are dancing on Baba’s grave with their in-law Gachagua!”

He added, ”Why do they think they can sell our ODM Party to their in-law Gachagua -he who preaches we don’t belong in Kenya, nearly assassinated Baba and didn’t attend Baba’s funeral because of his hatred for Baba and our people!”

The Homa Bay MP added that ODM leader Oburu Odinga should convene a National Delegates Council meeting to crack a whip on rebel members.

”This is indiscipline, not democracy. We need NDC to reassert order in our party,” said Kaluma.

His remarks emerged a day after the rally that James Orengo, Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino held in Busia County on February 7th 2026.

His statement has hence sparked different reactions from ODM supporters, with some saying;

@George Oluoch said; ” Hiyo gari yako propaganda hatutaipanda!! we are not stupid!”

A subsection of Kenyans supported his narrative with some commenting ;

@ Ominde Jakom said; ” I wonder what we are waiting for! SIFUNA MUST GO!”

@Obila Majoni said; ” Orengo must be impeached to start with.”

Kaluma in his opinion, noted that there is no order in the party band therefore the NDC should come in and address the issues. This will avoid killing the party.

According to Kaluma, the involvement of Gachagua in ODM affairs is bad and not for good intention, claiming Gachagua never wished Baba well.
