A TikTok video shoot turned tragic after a young man was struck by a speeding bus at what looks like the Muthaiga under pass road, an incident captured in disturbing footage that has since sparked widespread safety concerns online.

In the clip, the man dressed in a sweatshirt, grey jeans and black slides is seen stepping onto the roadway while participating in a trending TikTok challenge. As he walks past another young man who is gesturing for the video, he turns his back toward the road.

At that moment, an orange bus rounds the bend at high speed and slams into him, hitting his face and torso. The impact hurls him violently to the roadside as his companion leaps out of the way in shock.

The video circulated widely across Kenyan social media on Tuesday, drawing a flood of reactions from users who expressed alarm at the growing trend of creators filming on roadways and other high-risk locations.

Many urged young people to prioritise safety and avoid recording content in traffic or other unsafe environments, warning that “no trend is worth a life.”

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, though online safety advocates say the case highlights the urgent need for greater awareness around content creation risks especially among teenagers and young adults chasing viral moments.
