National Economic Development Party leader Mike Sonko has donated 27 coffins and offered buses to support families who lost loved ones in the ongoing floods in Nairobi.
The coffins are currently being distributed to the affected families at the City Mortuary by the Sonko Rescue Team (SRT) and will be strictly allocated to victims of the floods.
Speaking at his Upper Hill office on Tuesday, March 10, Sonko personally contacted the families of 26 victims to assure them of support, including transport, coffins, and financial assistance to help cover some funeral expenses.
The coordination of the burial arrangements is being handled by the Sonko Rescue Team.
At the same time, the former Nairobi governor urged leaders to stop politicizing the flooding crisis and instead focus on helping affected residents, as heavy rains continue to cause deaths, displacement, and destruction in parts of Nairobi and across the country.
