Tuesday night produced Champions League moments that will resonate for years to come.
The highlight of the night was Sporting CP, 3-0 down on aggregate and written off, produced one of the most stunning comebacks in Champions League history to beat Bodø/Glimt 5-0 on the night and advance 5-3 on aggregate. In the 34th minute, Gonçalo Inácio headed home from a set piece, igniting the miracle and shaking the stadium.

Pedro Gonçalves doubled it with a clinical finish in the 61st minute to level the tie, and Luis Suárez stepped up and converted a penalty in the 78th minute. The impossible became real. Maximiliano Araújo later buried a counterattack in the 92nd minute, and deep into the 121st, young Rafael Né latched onto a loose ball in the box and struck cleanly past the keeper to seal one of the most extraordinary European nights in recent memory.
At the Emirates, Arsenal were far more composed but equally impressive. Tied 1-1 from the first leg in Germany, the Gunners needed a clean performance at home, and they delivered one. Eberechi Eze provided it in the 36th minute with an absolute thunderstrike. In the 63rd minute, Declan Rice sealed the tie by carrying the ball forward from midfield and curling a beautiful effort into the bottom corner. Arsenal win 2-0, advance 3-1 on aggregate, and face Sporting CP next.

Over in London, Chelsea hosted PSG already trailing 5-2 from the first leg, and it got worse. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck in the 6th minute, Bradley Barcola added a second in the 15th with a brilliant right-footed finish, and Senny Mayulu sealed the rout in the 62nd minute. Chelsea 0-3 on the night, 2-8 on aggregate.

At the Etihad, 10-man Manchester City were knocked out by Real Madrid, who won 2-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate. City started on the front foot, but the game turned when Bernardo Silva blocked a Vinícius Júnior effort with his arm on the line and was sent off. Vinicius stepped up and converted the penalty; Erling Haaland equalized before half-time, but Vinicius grabbed a second late on to end City’s European journey. Real Madrid are through, and for the fourth time in five years.
Four teams are out. Four are through. The quarter-finals just got a lot more interesting!
