State Department for MSMEs to partner with Kasmuel Mc’Oure to boost youth empowerment

The State Department for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, under Principal Secretary Susan Mang’eni, has announced plans to collaborate with the Broad-Based Youth Front, convened by Kasmuel Mc’oure, in a move aimed at strengthening youth economic empowerment across the country.

“To expand the reach and impact of our State Department, we look forward to collaborating with Kasmuel Mc’Oure, the convener of the Broad-Based Youth Front, to ensure that more young people can access timely information, opportunities, and tools that support their economic empowerment.”

The partnership seeks to enhance access to timely information, opportunities and practical tools that enable young people to actively participate in and benefit from government-led empowerment programmes.

Through the collaboration, the two parties will work to increase youth awareness and uptake of key initiatives such as the Hustler Fund, the NYOTA Project and shared User Spaces under the Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE).

According to the State Department these programmes are designed to support MSMEs in value addition, enterprise growth, job creation and the establishment of sustainable livelihoods.

PS Mang’eni said the partnership aligns with the State Department’s broader mandate of expanding the reach and impact of MSME support programmes, particularly among young entrepreneurs who remain a critical driver of economic growth.

By leveraging the Broad-Based Youth Front’s grassroots networks and youth mobilisation structures, the collaboration is expected to improve outreach, information dissemination and participation in empowerment initiatives at the community level.
