A Kandara Law Court convicted Timothy Mucheru Waweru of manslaughter, for killing his wife in Gatanga, Murang’a County.

The court was told that on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Mwana-wikio sub-location in Gatanga Sub-County in Murang’a County, the accused unlawfully killed his wife, Mary Wambui Mucheru by running over her with a vehicle.

The accused called his wife to open the gate for him when he was approaching the gate. He then drove the motor vehicle, a Toyota Probox, crushing the gate and running over his wife, who died instantly.

The accused alleged that he was accosted by unknown persons who took control of his vehicle when he approached the gate and then vanished into darkness.

However, the court found that the evidence presented by the prosecution showed that it was the accused who killed the deceased and that there was no evidence of other people being present at the crime scene on the fateful night.

His sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
