After a thorough search, the officers recovered 160 brooms of suspected Cannabis sativa (bhang) packed in two large bags, along with loose dry leaves in one large bag.

The officers arrested the suspected owner of the house, who has since been placed in custody awaiting appearance in court.

The exhibits have been securely stored at the station.

Elsewhere on Monday, police officers from Kilifi Police Station, while on patrol, spotted two suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle with the registration number KMEC 461G.

The pillion passenger was carrying a small bag on his back.

When signalled to stop, the suspects attempted to flee, prompting the officers to give chase.

The pursuit ended in the Kashem area of Kilifi Town, where the two were successfully apprehended.

A search of the suspects led to the recovery of 26 rolls of cannabis sativa (bhang). The motorcycle, a black Boxer, was impounded, and the duo are in custody pending their arraignment in court.

At the same time, the National Police Service emphasized it has intensified its operations to dismantle drug networks, an effort which will help ensure safer communities.
