Suspect found with 168 rolls of bhang, another one with a sack of bhang

Police officers in Awendo, Migori County, have intercepted and arrested a suspect who was transporting a sack of cannabis sativa (bhang) along the Migori–Kisii road on a motorcycle.

In a statement on Thursday September 10, 2025, police reported that the suspect is being held in custody, pending processing and arraignment.

The National Police Service (NPS) emphasized that it will remain steadfast in its fight against narcotics, which threaten the safety and well-being of our communities.

In addition, NPS encouraged members of the public to report drug trafficking and related crimes to the nearest police station or via the toll-free numbers 999, 911

Elsewhere in Eldoret, officers from Kapsoya Police Station, while on patrol in the Munyaka area, arrested one suspect in possession of 168 rolls of bhang.

The suspect was escorted to the station and placed in custody, awaiting processing and arraignment in court, while the exhibits were secured at the same facility.

During the incident, NPS reaffirmed its commitment to combating the illegal drugs menace and urged the public to continue supporting security operations by providing timely information through the nearest police station.
