Tate brothers Andrew and Tristan to face 21 charges in the UK, including rape and human trafficking

Prosecutors in the United Kingdom have, for the first time, confirmed a full list of 21 criminal charges that Andrew and Tristan Tate will face upon their return from Romania.

The charges authorized by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in 2024 include serious offenses such as rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain.

The CPS said it had reviewed evidence submitted by Bedfordshire Police and authorized the charges before an extradition warrant was issued to bring the brothers back from Romania, where they are still facing separate legal proceedings.

Charges Detailed

Andrew Tate, 38, a former kickboxing champion and controversial internet influencer, is facing 10 charges involving three alleged victims. These include

  • Rape
  • Actual bodily harm
  • Human trafficking
  • Controlling prostitution for gain

His younger brother, Tristan Tate, 36, is facing 11 charges tied to a single alleged victim, including:

  • Rape
  • Actual bodily harm
  • Human trafficking

The allegations are said to have occurred between 2012 and 2015, when the brothers were living in the UK. Both were born in the United States but moved to Luton, England with their mother after their parents’ divorce.

Despite the UK charges, extradition cannot yet proceed, as the Tates remain under investigation in Romania, where they were initially arrested in December 2022. Romanian prosecutors have charged them with rape, human trafficking, and, more recently, allegations involving underage victims, which the brothers deny.

The CPS clarified that the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be resolved before the UK can pursue extradition.

“We remind all concerned that criminal proceedings against the defendants are active, and they have the right to a fair trial,” the CPS said.

Public Reaction and Online Presence

Andrew Tate, who describes himself as a “self-made alpha male” and openly shares misogynistic views, has amassed a massive online following. With over 10 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), he continues to post content promoting wealth, masculinity, and personal power.

The mounting legal troubles have not seemed to deter his most loyal supporters, though critics argue that his influence is deeply harmful—particularly to young men.

The Tate brothers’ fate hinges on the outcome of the Romanian criminal proceedings. If convicted there, extradition to the UK may be delayed indefinitely. If acquitted, the CPS is expected to move forward swiftly to bring them to justice on British soil.
