An intensive overnight police operation aimed at curbing rampant mugging incidents in Kisumu East Sub-County has led to the arrest of ten suspects, including one female.
The crackdown dubbed ‘Operation Fagia’ was executed by a combined team of officers from Migosi Police Station, the Kisumu East Sub-County Quick Response Team (QRT), and the Delta Sierra Unit. The operation was led by Kisumu East Police Commander, supported by the Deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Migosi.
The police targeted high-risk zones within the Migosi jurisdiction, specifically Kibos, Kunya, Ogango, and Elgons. These areas, located approximately 5 kilometers east of Migosi Police Station, have seen a surge in public complaints over mugging and violence.

All ten suspects are currently held at Migosi Police Station pending formal processing and arraignment in court.
Authorities say the operation is part of a larger ongoing campaign to restore safety and normalcy in the affected neighborhoods. Residents have welcomed the move, citing a noticeable increase in police visibility and responsiveness.
More operations are expected to be rolled out in coming weeks as security personnel intensify efforts to dismantle criminal networks and ensure peace across Kisumu East Sub-County.
