She conquered courts, shattered records, and became a seven-time Grand Slam champion. Now, Venus Williams has won perhaps her sweetest victory yet: love. The 45-year-old tennis icon tied the knot with actor Andrea Preti, 37, in a lavish, star-studded celebration in Palm Beach, Florida that left family and friends beaming.
The couple’s story reads like destiny. They first crossed paths at a Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week in 2024—neither even planned to attend.

A chance conversation at a VIP after-party sparked an instant connection, and Preti soon charmed Williams’ family at a London breakfast with her sisters, Lyndrea and Isha, and her mother, Oracene.
“After our dates in London, I just knew I was going to marry him. People always say they just know, and I just knew,” Williams told Vogue.

Their whirlwind romance led to an engagement in Tuscany just six months later. Though they kept it private at first, Williams subtly introduced Preti to the public after a triumphant return to tennis at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in July.
Earlier this month, the couple shared their engagement photos, revealing the magical moment Preti proposed:

“He asked, ‘Do you want to hear my wish?’” Williams recalled. “I said, ‘Yes, great!’ And when I turned around, he had the ring in his pocket.
He said, ‘Do you want to marry me?’ I couldn’t stop jumping up and down, laughing and smiling—just like I do after winning big matches. I was thinking, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’”

For the big day, Williams dazzled in a Georges Hobeika gown inspired by the ocean and the sea. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows in both English and Italian, shared their first dance to I Only Have Eyes for You by The Flamingos, and celebrated into the early hours with an after-party at a local restaurant.
“We all love each other so much,” Williams said. “It was just the happiest, most beautiful, sweetest day.”

From the tennis courts to a dreamlike wedding, Venus Williams proves that sometimes, love is the ultimate grand slam.
