“President Ruto ndio amefanya Chan ifike mahali tumefika bila unafiki. That guy stood with us and showed us the Kenyan spirit. He used to pop in anytime,” Shikhalo said, recalling moments when the President interacted directly with the players.
According to Farouk, Ruto’s consistent presence and reassurance during the tournament created a sense of national pride among the squad — a reminder that their hard work and dedication were being recognized at the highest level.
