These are the 89 recruitment agencies ordered to appear before DCI: They are accused of defrauding, misleading and exploiting Kenyans

Following the ongoing crackdown on fraudulent recruitment agencies and individuals involved in illegal labour mobility schemes, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through the Multi-Agency Response Team, recorded dozens of formal complaints from Kenyan citizens who have been defrauded, misled, or exploited by unregistered and unlicensed actors.

Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has ordered individuals and companies attached in the complaint log to appear before the DCI desk.

“All individuals and companies listed in the attached complaint log are hereby summoned to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) desk located at the Multi-Agency Taskforce Office, NSSF Building, Block C, 7th Floor. Date of appearance: Monday, July 21, time: 8 am to 2 pm sharp!”

CS Mutua further issued a warning to those who fail to heed the call, saying it will attract legal action.

“Failure to honour this summons will attract coercive legal action in accordance with Kenyan law, including but not limited to arrest, prosecution, and deregistration where applicable,” he said.

He added: “NB: If you are posing as a travel or recruitment agency and engaging in job placement without proper registration or licenses, we will come for you. You risk being taken on a long-term holiday to prison.”
