Third ‘FBI’ movement member arrested in Meru

Detectives have arrested Hiram Kimathi, the third member of the controversial “Fighting Brutality and Impunity” movement.

Kimathi was arrested in Kinoru village, Meru County, following an intelligence-led operation.

This follows the arrest of Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, a founding member of the Fighting Brutality and Impunity movement (FBI), and Jackson Kuria Kihara, alias Cop Shakur, on Wednesday, July 30, during a coordinated operation along Lang’ata Road.

Osoi was arraigned at the Kahawa Law Courts on Thursday, July 31, where he faced charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012, and for having a firearm, among other offenses.

He is currently being held at Muthaiga Police Station, pending a court ruling on custodial orders scheduled for tomorrow, July 31, 2025.

Jackson Kuria was also arrested in Kahawa West in connection with the same offenses.

At the time of arrest, he was found in possession of a red beret bearing the ‘FBI’ symbol.

Hiram Kimathi is currently undergoing processing pending his arraignment.
