TikTok content creators arrested for harassing pedestrians in Eastleigh, Nairobi

Police officers in Pangani, Nairobi, have arrested several TikTok content creators following complaints of public harassment and illegal recording of pedestrians along busy streets in Eastleigh on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The suspects were arrested by officers from Pangani Police Station after residents reported their troubling conduct across Eastleigh, Pangani, Kariokor, and Muthaiga areas.

The content creators are accused of deliberately targeting pedestrians, particularly women and girls, along General Wariungi Street while recording videos for social media.

According to reports, the young men were filmed aggressively approaching unsuspecting pedestrians on busy streets, with their actions ranging from inappropriate physical contact to frightening victims. The recorded incidents were then posted online as social media content.

Authorities have confirmed that the arrested TikTokers will appear in court on Wednesday, 21 January, 2026, to face multiple charges related to harassment and illegal recording of individuals without their consent.

This arrest comes shortly after Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris took a strong stand against victim-blaming on January 10, 2026.

Passaris confronted those who blame women for assault based on their attire, stating that a woman’s dressing should never justify harassment or violence.

“My Dress, My Choice,” she said.

She reaffirmed her commitment to zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based violence while distributing KSh 9.5 million in bursaries to support students.
