Traffic police impound Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 of Kenyan Prince

A Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 belonging to popular Forex trader and TikToker Kenya’s Youngest Sponsor, also known as Raymond Omosa or “Kenyan Prince,” has been impounded by traffic police.

The vehicle, which was being driven by a mechanic along Lusaka Road in Nairobi County, was allegedly unregistered and uninsured.

The driver, identified as Erick Araka,has been arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts, facing four counts under the Traffic Act and the Insurance (Motor Vehicle Third Party Risks) Act.

The first count is driving an unregistered motor vehicle,contrary to Section 6(1) as read with Section 14 of the Traffic Act, Cap 403, Laws of Kenya.

According to the charge sheet, on 5th November 2025,at about 9:49 a.m.along Lusaka Road in Nairobi County, the accused, Erick Araka,drove an unregistered Mercedes-Benz on a public road.

The second count is driving an uninsured motor vehicle,contrary to Section 4(1) as read with Section 4(2) of the Insurance (Motor Vehicle Third Party Risks) Act, Cap 405, Laws of Kenya.

The charge sheet states that on the same date and time, at Lusaka Road, Nairobi County,Erick Araka drove the unregistered Mercedes-Benz without a valid certificate of insurance.

The third count is failing to display a certificate of insurance,contrary to Section 9(1) as read with Section 17 of the same Act.

It is alleged that Araka failed to display a valid insurance certificate on the said vehicle while driving along Lusaka Road on 5th November 2025.

The fourth count is driving a motor vehicle on a public road without a valid driving licence,contrary to Section 30(1) as read with Section 30(7) of the Traffic Act, Cap 403, Laws of Kenya.

According to the charge sheet, on the same date and location,Erick Araka drove the unregistered Mercedes-Benz without holding a valid driving licence.

While speaking to our reporter the Mechanic claimed he was fixing break pads of the said Motor vehicle and it was impounded in his custody.

The youngest sponsor was captured at Milimani Law courts seeking to secure the release of the mechanic.
