Twenty-two-year-old environmentalist Truphena Muthoni has received an official Guinness World Records Badge after 48-hour tree hugging marathon on 2nd February, 2025 in Nairobi.
Truphena successfully completed the initial 48-hour endurance challenge between January 31 and February 2, 2025.
Truphena broke the news on receiving her record badge, writing on her social media pages how she ushered in her new year 2026 in style.
“New Year comes with official Record Breaker Badge!!!” Truphena wrote.
Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement, on December, 12, 2025, after examining all required evidence, including video documentation, witness logs, and timing records.
The certification was announced just a day after Truphena pushed her limits even further, embracing a tree for an extraordinary 72 hours in a second attempt aimed at amplifying awareness on forest protection, climate action, mental health, and the growing threat of deforestation.
Truphena awaits confirmation of her recent 72-hour record, that she did on December 8th, which she had aimed to surpass her earlier 48-hour achievement.
