Tusker FC confirms the departure of nine players

Kenyan Premier League giants Tusker FC have confirmed a significant shake-up in their squad, announcing the departure of nine players whose contracts have expired.

The exodus marks a pivotal moment for the Ruaraka-based club as they prepare for the upcoming season, hinting at a potential rebuilding phase.

Among the notable names exiting the Brewers are John Byamukama, James Kibande, Luke Namanda, David Odoyo, Boban Zirintusa, Deogratious Ojok, Mike Oduor, and Lawrence Luvanda.

These players have been integral to Tusker’s recent campaigns, contributing to their successes in various capacities.

Their departures will undoubtedly create considerable voids that the technical bench will need to address strategically in the transfer market.

Adding to the list of exits is defender Yussuf Mainge, who will also return to his parent club, Police FC, after completing his season-long loan spell.

Mainge’s presence in the Tusker backline provided solidity, and his departure leaves another crucial position to be filled.

Tusker FC Chief Executive Officer Sam Nzau extended the club’s heartfelt gratitude to the departing players.

“We thank each of them for their service, commitment, and contributions during their time at Ruaraka. Their efforts have been integral to the team, both on and off the pitch, and they leave with our sincere gratitude,” Nzau stated.

He further wished them well, adding, “As they embark on the next chapter of their professional journeys, we wish them the very best in their future endeavors.”

This mass exodus sets the stage for what promises to be a busy transfer window for Tusker FC as they look to replenish their squad with fresh talent.

Meanwhile Tusker FC has promoted two standout talents from its youth ranks, striker David Polepole and defender George Odhiambo, to the senior team ahead of the upcoming FKF Premier League season.

The duo has impressed the technical bench with their dedication, skill, and consistency, earning their places among the senior squad after a series of strong performances in the junior ranks and during recent training sessions and match day experiences with the first team.

Fans will be keenly watching to see how the club navigates this period of transition and if they can unearth gems capable of maintaining their competitive edge in the highly contested Kenyan Premier League.
