Tusker FC raids Ulinzi Stars for talented winger Yakeen Muteheli in major pre-season coup

Tusker FC have sent a clear statement of intent ahead of the 2025/26 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) campaign, officially announcing the acquisition of highly-rated winger Yakeen Muteheli from Ulinzi Stars FC.

The 26-year-old speedster has penned a two-year contract with the Brewers, becoming their fourth significant signing as they fortify their squad for a serious title challenge.

Muteheli, renowned for his blistering pace, creative prowess, and tireless work ethic down the flanks, is expected to inject much-needed flair and depth into Tusker’s attacking machinery.

His impressive showing with the military side last season saw him directly involved in a remarkable 10 goals, netting five and assisting a similar number, a testament to his attacking influence.

The arrival of Muteheli follows hot on the heels of other strategic additions, including midfielder Vincent Otieno from Nairobi City Stars and defender Eugene Ikutwa from Bidco United.

Adding further firepower, the Brewers have also welcomed back prolific striker Eric Kapaito, who returns to Ruaraka after a stint with Tanzania’s Namungo FC. This quartet of signings signals a robust recruitment drive by the Ruaraka-based club.

Head coach Charles Okere expressed his excitement over Muteheli’s arrival, highlighting the winger’s attributes and the competition he will bring to the team. “Yakeen is a dynamic and intelligent player who will undoubtedly add value to our team,” Okere stated.

“His ability to take on defenders and deliver in the final third is something we’ve been keen to add, and we are pleased to have him on board.”

Speaking after finalizing his move, a delighted Muteheli, who was recently called up to Kenya’s preliminary squad for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), embraced the new challenge with enthusiasm. “I’m honored to join a club of Tusker’s stature.

This is a great opportunity for me to grow as a player and contribute to the team’s goals. I’m looking forward to giving my best and helping bring success to the club,” he remarked.

Muteheli’s career trajectory has seen him previously feature for Lirhembe Arsenal and Vickers FC, showcasing his journey to becoming one of the most exciting attacking talents in the FKFPL. His integration into the Tusker squad will be closely watched as the Brewers aim to reclaim their top spot in Kenyan football.
