TV47 and Radio47’s Senior Anchor and Parliamentary Reporter Elizabeth Mutuku has received an award on New Media Management after a successful 14 days Seminar in China.
The awards were presented on June 29, 2025 by Hunan International Business Vocational College under the Ministry of Commerce in People’s republic of China
The 14 days Seminar entailed intensive learning and visiting different studios in a bid to incorporate knowledge especially on new technologies which include artificial intelligence AI.

Speaking to TV47 Digital after receiving the award, Mutuku said it was such a great honour for her to win the prestigious award at a global event.
“I’m coupled with excitement and honour to have received the award and I thank God for everything. I lack words!”

Mutuku was one of the delegates from across the world, who attended the seminar that was organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce through the Hunan Vocational Business Center.
During the seminar, Mutuku got the opportunity to stroll in the streets of Changsha City, and was mesmerized at the level of hygiene, order and proper urban planning at play.
This comes a year after her promotion to the position of Senior Anchor/Senior Political Reporter.

Announcing the changes on March 27, 2024, Cape Media Ltd owner Prof. Simon Gicharu said that Mutuku’s elevation is clear indication of the company’s new direction to promote and empower staff internally.

In the long run, her efforts have helped in growing the TV station to one of the best in the country,” Prof. Gicharu said during a meeting with the staff.
