TV47’s Shiksha Arora excited as she is set to appear in a major acting role

Award winning anchor and Shiksha Arora is set to dazzle fans in a new way as she joins the cast of a Kenyan Comedy, “Inside job” premiering on Netflix this June 14, in a supporting role.

An exhilarated Shiksha took to Instagram to share the news with her fans on May 27.

She continued to share photos of behind the scenes of the making of the project while revealing that her journey started way back in January 2024, when she received a call to audition for the film.

“Your girl is going to be on Netflix! January 2024, I got a call to do what I have never done before, audition for a movie,” the post read in part. This Netflix debut will mark a major milestone for both Shiksha and the rapidly growing Kenyan film

Produced and directed by Tosh Gitonga, alias The African director, (famed for his works Volume and Nairobi Half Life). “Inside Job” follows the story of two cousins who take matters into their own hands after witnessing an injustice.

The plotline reads: When a heartless business man fires his honest housekeeper, her jobless daughter and niece (played by Jacky Vike and Mammito Eunice) decide to make things right -by breaking into his house and robbing him.

Shiksha will join top comedic talent Jacky Vike, beloved for her wit and compelling storytelling and Mammito Eunice, a stand up queen.

The duo have carved their own path in producing online comedy with Vike producing her own YouTube two-seasons series, Disco Matanga, that followed her family in traversing the unthinkable process of laying their brother to rest after a puzzling demise.

Their combined star power is set to make “Inside Job” one of the year’s most talked about Kenyan releases. Other notable casts of the film include Irene Kariuki and Elyas Moshkwani.

The Tribe47 (airs on TV47) host will undoubtedly bring her signature charm and charisma to the project. Her enthusiasm leaves no doubt about her ability to deliver an outstanding performance in her acting debut.” I got a role and got an opportunity to star in a movie. I am officially adding ‘supporting actress’ to my CV,” she stated.

As “Inside Job” joins the growing number of locally produced films aired on international platforms like Netflix. It further cements Kenya’s position on the world entertainment map.

Pictures like Country Queen, Volume The series, Kash Money, Mo-faya, among other projects aired on Netflix have continued to enjoy both national and regional acclaim.

This development will continue to offer hope for greater visibility and monetization for film talent in Kenya-a highly welcomed fete for the industry.
