Two men have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the defilement of a seven-year-old girl. The two men hail from Kalabata Village in Baringo North Sub-County.
The crime, which occurred in February 2025, not only inflicted physical injuries to the victim but also psychological trauma. The court was told that the victim is afraid to go back to her grandmother’s home as this is where she was defiled.
The two perpetrators are the grandmother’s neighbours and casual labourers at the grandmother’s residence.
The prosecution was led by Counsel Collins Ogutu. Senior Principal Magistrate Koskey delivered the judgment at the Kabarnet Law Courts, stating the evidence presented left no reasonable doubt about the men’s guilt.
The ODPP reiterated its dedication to securing justice for vulnerable victims, particularly children, in cases of sexual violence.
