Douglas Mayanja, a Ugandan musician who is widely known by his stage name Weasel, is currently admitted to Nsambya Hospital after he was allegedly struck by a vehicle which was being driven by his wife, Sandra Teta, in what police are investigating as a case of domestic violence.
The incident reportedly occurred at Chan’s Bar in Munyonyo on Wednesday August 6, 2025 at night. Eyewitnesses at the scene claimed that Teta deliberately ran over Weasel with a car, hitting him three times and causing multiple fractures in one of his legs.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, investigations suggest the dispute between the couple began at their home, where Weasel allegedly chased Teta and their children out.
Teta reportedly informed Weasel’s parents, who advised her to return home. However, the conflict did not end.
Sources say that Teta followed Weasel to the bar, where the argument resumed and quickly turned violent. In a shocking turn of events, Teta allegedly used her vehicle to run over the singer.
Sandra Teta has since been detained at Kabalagala Police Station, while the vehicle involved in the incident has been impounded as part of the ongoing investigations.
Weasel, who is a member of the former dynamic music duo Radio & Weasel, is undergoing treatment, with doctors monitoring his condition closely. Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding possible charges against Teta.
