Uhuru Kenyatta pays tribute at Raila Odinga’s grave in Kang’o Ka Jaramogi

In a quiet and poignant moment on Mashujaa Day, former President Uhuru Kenyatta made a private visit to the final resting place of the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County.

Accompanied by Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga, the elder brother of the late statesman, the former Head of State arrived at the homestead in the early afternoon.

The two leaders walked side by side to the gravesite, where they stood in silence for several minutes, heads bowed in reflection.

Unlike his typically warm and animated public demeanor, Mr. Kenyatta appeared visibly subdued. Witnesses described him as “deep in thought,” standing motionless at the grave, seemingly in silent conversation with the departed political icon.

His expression bore the weight of grief and reverence, a stark contrast to his usual jovial self.

After a brief prayer led by Senator Oburu, the two retreated into the family home without addressing the media.

The former president declined to make any public remarks, choosing instead to let his presence speak volumes.

The visit comes just days after the nation laid to rest one of its most influential political figures. Raila Odinga, a towering figure in Kenya’s democratic journey, passed away earlier this month, prompting an outpouring of tributes from across the political divide.

As the country marked Mashujaa Day in celebration of its heroes, Uhuru Kenyatta’s quiet pilgrimage to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi served as a powerful reminder of the personal bonds and shared history that transcend political office.

It was a moment of reflection, not just for a friend lost, but for a chapter in Kenya’s political narrative that has now come to a close.
