Defending champions Ulinzi Starlets will begin their title defense against TUK Ravens in the round of 32 of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Cup, following the draw conducted Tuesday in Nairobi.
The draw has set up several intriguing fixtures, with top-tier and emerging teams poised to compete for a place in the next round.
Other notable pairings include Gaspo Women facing Premier League rivals Kibera Soccer Women, while last year’s finalists Kenya Police Bullets will play Thika Starlets.
Newly promoted Kayole Starlets are set to take on Makolanders, and Ndaraweta Tea Queens will meet Kakuma Kalobeyei.
Additional fixtures see Red Sea Majestic up against Milima Queens and Iron Ladies facing Kisiwa Starlets. The round of 32 matches are scheduled for this weekend3.
In a significant boost for the tournament, betPawa has entered into a partnership with FKF, committing KES 4.3 million towards bonuses for players and technical staff.
The “Locker Room Bonus” initiative will see 23 players and three technical bench members from each team receive direct payments every match day throughout the competition.
FKF president Hussein Mohammed hailed the partnership as a game-changer, emphasizing that the initiative provides financial relief to female players while raising the profile of the tournament.
Raquel Puig, Head of CSR & Sports Development at betPawa, echoed this sentiment, stating that the sponsorship is a commitment to rewarding women in sport and increasing football’s visibility across Africa.
