“Urudishe meno yangu”: Mulamwa and Ruth K air their dirty linen on social media

Comedian Mulamwah has ignited a social media storm, leaving tongues wagging with an explosive post detailing the dramatic breakup with his ex-lover, Ruth K.

Taking to his social media platforms, Mulamwah accused Ruth of orchestrating their separation. He claimed she was unduly influenced by “fake friends” who offered terrible advice, ultimately leading to their split. He further alleged that Ruth K began making plans to move out and even purchased household items for her new residence while they were still cohabiting.

In a scathing accusation, Mulamwah also claimed Ruth K had been badmouthing him to her friends in a WhatsApp group, where she shockingly accused him of being HIV positive.

“How do you add 84 ladies to a WhatsApp group, then unawaambia ati devvy is positive? (…then you tell them that Devvy is positive?) You even added clients to the group, which led them to withdraw sponsorship for my stand-up show. Kwani nadate kila dem tunaongea na yeye? (Am I dating every girl I talk to?) My advice is to avoid talking too much online and seeking validation from people and strangers who don’t even care. Focus on your life and goals.”

Mulamwah also issued an apology to his first ex-partner, Carol Sonnie, implicitly accusing Ruth K of destroying his previous relationship.

“I had a beautiful marriage until you (Ruth K) came. Kumbe ulikua unakuja kunimaliza? (So, you just came to destroy me?) Pole sana CARROL (I’m very sorry, Carol), though it’s water under the bridge now.”

He continued, addressing Ruth K: “Hizo story unataka kutupea wewe leta chai tuunde nazo dooh online – we own some of these blogs – Pia mimi nina zako – for me i stand for facts and i fear no one , Nimejaribu kukufunikia for long imekataa, hizi platform mnapewa mnatumia vibaya sana, – Halafu urudishe meno yangu.(Those stories you want to give us, just bring the ‘tea’ [gossip] so we can make money online with it – we own some of these blogs – I also have things on you – For me, I stand for facts and I fear no one. I’ve tried to cover for you for so long, it has failed. These platforms you are given, you misuse them badly. – And also, return my teeth.)

Meanwhile, Ruth K took to her Instagram to share her frustrations, asserting that she has been trying to heal for barely three months since their separation, amidst widespread disrespect. She affirmed that this disrespect has been meted out both privately and publicly, leaving her emotionally drained.

Despite not mentioning Mulamwah directly, it was evident he was the subject of her post. “Sometimes silence is taken for granted. It’s been barely 3 months since the breakup, and I’ve faced disrespect in ways you wouldn’t even imagine, publicly and worse in private. I’m trying to heal, to gather myself emotionally, but it’s draining,” she wrote in part.

Ruth further disclosed that Mulamwah had reversed a KSh 5,000 transaction he had wired into her account. Subsequently, she accused him of screenshotting her photos, for which she had spent a considerable sum to create.

“You send 5,000 and reverse it, then have the nerve to screenshot a photo I put so much effort into? The audacity is loud enough,” Ruth’s post further read.

Concluding her statement, Ruth noted that she has been pushed to her limit and will be sharing her side of the story soon. “Enough is enough. I take my respect back, one day I will tell my story,” her post summed up.
