Kenyan socialite Vera Mung’asia, popularly known as Vera Sidika, has clapped back at critics after posting a video of her children spending quality time with their father.
The post sparked a flood of reactions, with fans questioning her parenting choices, but Vera did not hold back as she addressed the misconceptions around motherhood and co-parenting.
In the video, Vera’s kids were seen bonding with their dad, singer Frederick Kilonzo, better known by his stage name Brown Mauzo.
While many fans praised her maturity in allowing her children to enjoy time with both parents, others challenged her approach, particularly her decision to prioritize presence over financial support.
She stressed that her parenting is not driven by bloggers or social media validation but by what she believes is best for her kids.
“I do everything for my kids. Not for blogs, not for who’s watching, and definitely not for people’s opinions,” she explained.
One of the key moments came when a fan asked how she chose the father of her children. Vera responded by highlighting that while some men make great boyfriends but terrible fathers, certain traits can reveal a man’s true character.
She pointed out that Brown Mauzo’s pain at being denied access to his older child years ago showed her the kind of present father he was, saying all she wanted was for her children to have “a present, loving dad.”
Not all fans agreed. Some criticized her for letting a man who doesn’t provide financial support spend time with the kids. Vera was quick to dismiss this view.
“This is such primitive thinking,” she fired back, adding that she has never tried to block her children’s father from being in their lives simply because she can provide financially on her own.
Other followers echoed her stance, noting that being physically present is also a form of support. Vera clarified that she has never asked for financial assistance, emphasizing that her focus is on stability and love for the children, not late-night calls demanding money.
Despite the criticism, many fans showered her with praise for putting her kids first. One admirer commented, “And your kids are so lucky,” to which Vera responded warmly: “Aki, the best dad ever.”
Through the exchange, Vera Sidika made her position on parenting crystal clear: for her, co-parenting is not about grudges or financial battles but about ensuring her children grow up surrounded by love and the consistent presence of both parents.
