Entrepreneur Eunice Kaigai Glenie has once again turned vision into reality with the creation of the Wadau Experience, a one-of-a-kind destination that redefines leisure and cultural tourism.
Designed almost entirely from wood and inspired by the elegant form of traditional dhows, the establishment stands as a testament to craftsmanship, sustainability and innovation.
The name Wadau, a Swahili word meaning stakeholders, reflects the philosophy behind the project.
It celebrates the collective effort of dedicated local artisans who came together to build the unique space, seamlessly blending it into its natural surroundings.
Set in an area of outstanding scenic beauty, Wadau Experience boasts its own water frontage and is encircled by a reservoir spanning a five-kilometre radius—remarkably located just a stone’s throw from the CBD.
Sustainability is at the heart of the venture. Fresh produce is sourced directly from the proprietors’ 14-acre working Hilton Farm in Kiserian, ensuring farm-to-table dining while supporting local agriculture.
Plans are underway to extend this offering by supplying farm produce to existing customers three times daily, with a convenient pick-up point at Wadau Experience.
Guests are also treated to a carefully curated fire dining experience, designed to create intimate moments where lasting connections are nurtured and meaningful memories are made.
Adding to its allure is an in-house traditional Lamu dhow, offering hourly departures daily. The dhow experience features sundowners on the water, complete with an onboard bar and live band, providing a perfect setting for special occasions.
With its blend of cultural heritage, environmental harmony and modern hospitality, Wadau Experience is positioning itself as a standout destination—where community, nature and unforgettable experiences come together effortlessly.
