“We are not raiding ODM strongholds” – UDA answers Senator Osotsi

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party leadership in Kakamega County has dismissed claims by ODM Deputy Party Leader and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi that the party is raiding ODM strongholds.

The UDA leaders maintain that they are engaging in political persuasion rather than orchestrating defections, noting that every political party has its own strategy as it positions itself ahead of the 2027 General Election and President William Ruto’s bid for a second term.

Addressing the media in Kakamega today, the party’s county leadership, led by acting chairperson Dennis Muhanda, said UDA remains focused on strengthening its grassroots structures within the law.

Muhanda further alleged that some ODM Members of Parliament are mobilising individuals to register as ODM members with the intention of influencing the outcome of the upcoming UDA grassroots elections scheduled for January 10th, a move he said does not follow due process.

The UDA leadership, including Shieywe MCA Moses Musundi and Lurambi Constituency Party Secretary Catherine Sisko, urged ODM members to refrain from interfering in UDA internal affairs as the party prepares for its grassroots polls.
