Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula has called on the political class to tone down political temperatures, warning that rising tensions could push the country onto a dangerous path.
Speaking during a church service and fundraiser at Kanyadhiang SDA Church, Homa Bay County, Wetangula said the politics of name-calling and the use of abusive language among leaders should not be tolerated.
He urged politicians to embrace respectful dialogue and focus on uniting the country.
The Speaker emphasized that leaders have a responsibility to promote peace and cohesion, noting that unity is key to achieving national development and prosperity.
Wetang’ula also acknowledged the progress made under the administration of William Ruto, saying the government’s initiatives are aimed at improving the well-being of Kenyans.
