Will the Gunners lift the Premier League title?

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal stormed into Molineux looking like title contenders, only to walk out deflated. Final score? Wolves 2–2 Arsenal. The real scoreboard? Manchester City: 1, Arsenal: 0.

Wolves, almost certain of relegation, were brilliant. Arsenal, with their lofty ambitions, somehow slipped twice.

Arsenal opened the scoring early through Bukayo Saka, who ghosted between defenders to head home. Piero Hincapié doubled the lead with a sharp strike from inside the box following a patient midfield buildup.

Wolves clawed back when Hugo Bueno cut inside and fired past David Raya. Then the equalizer came in stoppage time, when Tom Edozie reacted fastest inside a crowded Arsenal penalty area, with the shot coming off Ricardo Calafiori to force a last-minute draw.

In classic Gunners fashion, they slipped up.

One can almost see Pep Guardiola watching the result, knowing the advantage now firmly sits with his side. Arsenal face a North London Derby against Tottenham this weekend, and the pressure is mounting.

Arsenal had every chance to control their destiny. Instead, they handed City a gift wrapped in a Gunners red ribbon.

The title race isn’t over, but with City breathing down their necks, Arsenal’s path just got a whole lot steeper.
