‘Without Raila, Ruto will face trouble in 2027’ – Gloria Orwoba

Former Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has said President William Ruto will have a rough time while seeking re-election in the 2027 general elections, without the support of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Tuesday November 4, 2025 during the TV47’s Morning Cafe show, Orwoba said Raila’s death was a great loss to President Ruto.

“Ruto was sad because he knows that without Raila, he’s in trouble in the 2027 elections,” Orwoba stated.

Orwoba didn’t hold back when addressing President Ruto’s prominent role in organizing Raila’s state funeral.

“The biggest abuser of Raila is Ruto, yet he was the one at the forefront of conducting his state funeral,” she said.

At the same time, Orwoba criticized Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga for rebuking Governor Mutahi Kahiga and saying he was not welcome to mourn with the Odinga family.

She emphasized that Wanga’s comments were inappropriate, since she lacked the authority to choose people to attend Raila’s funeral.

“It was shameful for Gladys Wanga to make such statements because only the family has the right to stop anyone from visiting their home,” the former senator said.
