Digital content creator and comedian Julius Ochieng alias Wololo TV, has shared the deeply personal journey behind his rise in the entertainment industry, revealing that he battled severe stammering all through primary and high school.
Speaking to Dr.Ofweneke during TV47’s Dr. Ofweneke Tonight show on 19th November 2025, Ochieng said;
“I used to stammer a lot back in high school and primary. I didn’t go for any speech training; I just prayed to God,” he recalled.
He revealed that he made a personal covenant with God: “The day He removes that thing (stammer) out of me, I will use my voice to do something for Him. So me making people laugh is me fulfilling God’s covenant.”
Wololo also weighed in on the ongoing debate around relationships after fellow creator Rono claimed “marriage hubamba mafala.”
When asked about his view, he said many successful people in his circle emphasise the importance of choosing a partner wisely.
“Most people who are doing well in life tell me it’s important to have someone. They say the person you choose can either make you a billionaire or completely break you,” he noted. “If you want to get married, then wacha tu sisi wote tukue mafala. Wacha tu nikue Fala.”
On whether he would date a Gen Z woman, comedian Dr. Ofweneke posed the question, Wololo’s response was simple: “Hiyo damu ni moto… mimi nataka mtu ametulia.”
Wololo also reflected on his long journey in comedy, revealing it took six years before the craft could sustain him financially. Before fame, he worked in a movie shop while trying to convince his parents about his career direction.
“At first my parents had a problem because they wanted me to do white-collar jobs. I had to prove myself.
Now, my father is my biggest fan,” he said. “Whatever you’re doing, as long as you give it consistency, it will pay off.”
He added that most of his skits are inspired by real experiences. Rejecting the idea of 50/50 relationships, he said, “It’s either I go 100 or my significant other goes 100.”
He even recalled living in a girlfriend’s house for eight months, cooking, fetching movies and handling all entertainment.
