World Klassik Day on Sunday coincided with the release of a new book and renewed calls for entrepreneurship and ownership-driven economic models, as organisers framed the observance as a growing cultural movement across Africa.
The annual event, observed on April 13, is rooted in the Klassik philosophy, a framework built on the principles of God, Family and the Good Life and is positioned as a moment of reflection for creators, entrepreneurs and system thinkers.
This year’s edition coincided with the launch of FOREVER: A Book of What Remains by Don Santo, his fifth publication.
The book blends literary and philosophical themes, examining identity, resilience, faith and cultural memory. Organisers say a companion music album and tour linked to the FOREVER project are expected later.
Beyond the book release, the initiative is being used to promote a shift toward enterprise creation, particularly among young Africans.
It emphasises the need to move away from consumption-led systems and toward structured ownership and scalable business development across sectors such as media, technology, logistics and the creative economy.
“A defining pillar of World Klassik Month is the elevation of entrepreneurship as cultural responsibility,” said Don Chrisantos Michael Wanzala. “Young innovators are being encouraged to transition into ownership and enterprise development while remaining grounded in core values.”
Klassik Nation, the movement’s creative arm, is advancing an approach that treats music, storytelling and artistic expression as economic infrastructure.
Through its evolving genre identity, Kalpop, the platform integrates performance, narrative and philosophy to reflect contemporary social and economic realities.
Organisers say the observance also positions music as a tool for documenting lived experiences, including struggle, ambition and transformation, while supporting Africa’s cultural export to global audiences.
World Klassik Day is framed as a symbolic reset, particularly for young people navigating creative and entrepreneurial pathways in a rapidly changing economic environment.
