24-year-old man kills his 40-year-old lover in Mwingi over cheating

Police have launched investigations after a 24-year-old man killed his lover during an argument over cheating allegations in Kyethani, Mwingi West, Kitui County.

The 24 year old man identified as Mbuvi escaped death by whisker after killing a 40 year old woman, Seral, following family wrangles.

The incident was confirmed by Kyethani Location Chief Mwikali Musili who said he had a tough time saving the man from an angry mob.

This was after angry residents descended on him with crude weapons, kicks and blows, after he confessed to have committed the offence.

Kyethani Location Chief Mwikali Musili said the suspect admitted to have killed the woman after a disagreement.

“The suspect says that he lived with the woman; they were a couple. Recently, another man from Garissa came, and the wrangles began,” Mwikali said.

The chief disclosed that the suspect used to work for the woman (now deceased) before they developed a romantic affair.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, the suspect  is undergoing treatment at Mwingi Level 4 Hospital.
