5,000 litres of kangara destroyed as police raid Dandora chang’aa den

An operation against illicit brew was conducted in Dandora, Nairobi, on Friday, 29 August 2025, targeting a chang’aa den in the area.

During the operation, police seized and destroyed more than 5,000 litres of kangara on site.

Additionally, six copper manufacturing coils and three electric boilers were recovered and retained as evidence.

The owner of the illicit den is currently at large.

Police are pursuing the suspect and are appealing to members of the public to provide any relevant information by contacting their nearest police station. This can also be done using the toll-free numbers 999, 911, 112, #FichuaKwaDCI 0800 722 203, or the WhatsApp line 0709 570 000.

The National Police Service (NPS) says it remains firmly committed to the fight against illicit brews and other illegal activities that endanger the health, safety, and well-being of Kenyans.
