Controversial content creator and Only Fans star Alicia Kanini has made headlines again after publicly declining a suggestion to go on a date with popular Kenyan rapper Stivo Simple Boy.
The TikToker, who was engaging with her fans online, was asked directly if she would accept a date with the “Mihadarati” hitmaker, who recently became a father. Her answer was a firm “no,” and she offered a clear explanation for her decision.
Kanini stated that her main reason for turning down the date was her preference for dating celebrities she already knows or cherishes. She doesn’t want to simply date any celebrity.
She values the importance of creating time for someone she adores and values, she drew a parallel with fellow celebrity Azziad Nasenya, explaining that meeting someone as popular as Azziad would likely attract an unwelcome crowd, and for that reason, she wouldn’t even go on a date with her.
“I can only go on a date with a celebrity if they are someone I really prioritise. I can create time for someone I adore, cherish and highly value. But I can’t do that to someone I barely know, these socialites, content creators and Tiktokers, honestly, that is a no,” Kanini said.
She further clarified that she would not go on a date with socialites or content creators she barely knows.
This isn’t the first time Alicia Kanini has been in the spotlight for her public choices.
She gained notoriety after her private video leaked online, leading to widespread public outrage, Nairobi environment chief officer Geoffrey Mosiria publicly slammed her for the explicit content, calling it morally degrading and a criminal offence under Kenyan law.
Mosiria later offered Kanini a job at a local club, with a monthly salary of up to Ksh 100,000, urging her to abandon her controversial online activities like OnlyFans. She did not accept the offer.
Despite the continuous criticism regarding her provocative online behaviour, Kanini has remained defiant. Amidst the storm, she has publicly affirmed her faith in God, insisting that her online content does not reflect her spiritual beliefs. She describes herself as born again.
In a world where celebrity dating is often a PR move, Alicia Kanini is making it clear that her time and attention are reserved for those she genuinely values, whether they are famous or not.
