COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has suggested that former President Uhuru Kenyatta should be arrested for violating the oath he took to protect the Constitution and preserve government secrets, after claiming that the late Raila Odinga won the 2022 presidential election.

Speaking at Elukanji Primary School in Khwisero Constituency, Kakamega County on September 29, 2026 during a groundbreaking ceremony for a water project, Atwoli said the former President must be arrested and charged for violating the oath he took while serving as President.

He claims Uhuru Kenyatta’s remarks could plunge the country into political turmoil, while asking him to come clean on what transpired during the 2017 election where the late Raila Odinga defeated him.

The COTU boss also threw jabs at DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua for not being truthful about the country’s politics.

Atwoli further urged residents of the Western region not to be swayed by the politics of the opposition, claiming they have no agenda.

According to Atwoli, the time for the Western region to produce the country’s leader is still far and urged residents to support the re-election of President William Ruto.
