The Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice (OAG & DOJ) has released the list of shortlisted candidates for 22 advertised positions following applications submitted on May 6, 2025.
The recruitment exercise attracted thousands of applications from qualified candidates across the country.
For the Accountant level 2 position, which had 10 vacancies, a total of 3,617 applications were received. From these, 91 candidates have been shortlisted to proceed to the interview stage.
The role requires handling various accounting tasks under the guidance of senior officers, including preparing and verifying vouchers, balancing cashbooks, and managing imprest and advance ledgers.
The Public Communication Officer level 2 position had two posts available, receiving 666 applications. Nineteen candidates were shortlisted for interviews. This position is tasked with assisting in the development and dissemination of public information, maintaining the organization’s image, and supporting communication initiatives.
The Clerical Officer level 2 position, which also had 10 posts, attracted the highest number of applications at 5,890, from which 113 candidates were shortlisted. The role involves supporting administrative operations, maintaining records, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day office functions.
Applicants are urged to confirm their names on the shortlist through the OAG & DOJ website. The initial advertisement for the vacancies ran in local newspapers and on the department’s website and closed on May 16, 2025.
Interviews for the shortlisted candidates are scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 4, 2025, and candidates are expected to report promptly as per the interview schedule. The recruitment exercise aims to fill the advertised positions and strengthen service delivery across the Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice.
