ODM will remain in government under President William Ruto, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has affirmed.
Speaking in Bondo a head of the burial of Raila Wandayi said the ODM party will continue to work with President Ruto beyond 2027.
“Baba has left us as a people under a government led by President William Ruto, and that is where we are going to stay until the end. We are going to walk step by step with President Ruto now and beyond 2027,” he said.
On the leadership of the party, Wandayi stated, “ODM has made a wise decision to appoint Oburu as Party Leader.’
He said as a life member of the party he will be proposing, that they convene a meeting to confirm Oburu as the leader of the party.
”Soon after Baba’s burial, to actually confirm Dr. Oburu’s appointment and elect him formally as the leader of ODM. He has the experience and composure to steer the party to the next level.”
Opiyo emphasized the unity of the region within the party, saying, “I want to remove any doubts that this region will remain intact within ODM and it is going to get directions from the party leader who is Dr. Oburu Oginga.”

Wandayi said Kenyans will continue to be accorded the chance to view Raila Odinga’s body, and the public viewing will continue.
