Bien hints at surprise new music for Sauti Sol fans

Sauti Sol’s main vocalist, Bien-Aimé Baraza has confirmed that the band has a massive collection of unreleased tracks. Despite the group’s current indefinite hiatus, this “music vault” could soon be unlocked.

Bien hinted that fans may not have to wait long to hear something new from the iconic Kenyan Afro-pop group.

During a recent interview with the spmbujzzke, Bien shared an exciting insight into the sheer volume of music Sauti Sol created during their two decades together.

The band’s creative output over the years was so high that they simply couldn’t release every track they worked on.

“We have a lot of songs, man. So many unreleased songs that Sauti Sol has recorded over the years. We were always creating.”

While Sauti Sol announced in 2023 they would be taking a break to pursue solo careers, the members have maintained they still work together on various projects.

Bien is currently enjoying major solo success, with his album receiving critical praise. However, he suggested that a surprise song from the group could drop at any moment. This would offer a nostalgic treat for their loyal fanbase.

Sauti Sol’s break was reportedly a mutual decision, taken to ensure the band’s brotherhood remained intact and to allow each member to explore their individual artistic identities.

Bien has been a shining example of this, with his solo work earning him international acclaim. He even joked that some of the songs that ended up on his solo album were tracks that Sauti Sol had initially “rejected.”

The band’s chemistry was recently on display when the other members joined Bien on stage for a surprise mini-reunion during a stop on his world tour. This was a clear sign that the group’s bond and their readiness to perform is still strong.

The possibility of a spontaneous release from Sauti Sol has reignited excitement among fans. While the focus remains on the members’ solo careers, the knowledge that a treasure trove of music exists offers hope for unexpected drops in the future.
