Gladdens Homes Limited director Bildad Nzuki Wambua has been charged over an alleged housing fraud scheme in which 22 buyers reportedly lost about KSh28 million.
Wambua was arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts on September 2, 2026, and faces multiple counts of obtaining money by false pretences and money laundering.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations says the alleged scheme ran between 2024 and 2026, with buyers promised houses of different designs and sizes on Land Title No. Nairobi/Block A 40/474 under the Urban Housing Renewable Development LPP project.
According to investigators, payments were made through Gladdens Homes Agency, a privately registered entity linked to Wambua.
The prosecution opposed his release on bond, with the court set to rule on the application on September 3. The case will be mentioned on October 15.
The DCI has urged anyone who dealt with Wambua or Gladdens Homes Agency and believes they were defrauded to report to the DCI Starehe Sub-County offices.
