EPL: Manchester United surge, Liverpool draw, as Tottenham salvage a point

Manchester United vs Aston Villa game on Sunday was delivered as the headline fixture. In the 53rd minute, Casemiro scored the first goal for United with a signature header and assist from a Bruno Fernandes corner.

Ross Barkley briefly silenced the home crowd in the 64th minute, firing past the goalkeeper to equalize for Villa.

United regained the lead in the 71st minute when Matheus Cunha latched onto a sublime through-ball from Bruno Fernandes and slotted home, before Benjamin Sesko wrapped up the 3–1 win in the 81st minute with a close-range finish.

Fernandes was central to the attacks, recording his 100th assist for the club and breaking David Beckham’s United record of 15 Premier League assists in a season with his 16th, still with eight games to play.

At Anfield, Liverpool looked set for three points after Dominik Szoboszlai curled a stunning free-kick into the top corner in the 18th minute.

However, Tottenham salvaged a dramatic 1–1 draw in the 90th minute when Richarlison pounced after Liverpool’s defense failed to deal with a long ball, with Randal Kolo Muani teeing him up inside the box. Spurs secured a vital point in their battle to stay just above the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace and Leeds United played out a goalless draw, highlighted by a red card and a missed penalty, while Nottingham Forest and Fulham also ended 0–0. Both matches offered little in the way of excitement but still contributed to the shifting mid-table picture.

In the title race, Arsenal lead with Manchester City close behind, while United now sit firmly in the mix for Champions League qualification. Eight games remain, and the fight for European places and survival at the bottom is intensifying, proving that every point counts in this unpredictable Premier League season.
